1992-048/021 – Bag, Tote designed by Frankie Welch

Tote bag, navy blue. Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Nurse Corps (1983). One side has gold square enclosing 13 Nurse Corps oak leaves and “Navy Nurse Corps” written in the corner. On other side, framed in a gold border is “75” shaped from small gold Nurse Corps oak leaf shapes. The tote bag was designed by Frankie Welch, who is primarily known for designing scarves for prominent political figures, which she sold from her boutique in Alexandria, VA. She also designed designed several of Betty Ford’s gowns.
