2014-000/221a-b – Flag

(a) American flag, tri-corner fold. (b) Commemorative citation from George M. White, the Architect of the Capitol, stating that the flag was flown over the U.S. Capitol at the request of Senator Edward M. Kennedy, in commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the Navy Nurse Corps on May 13, 1983. It goes on to state that the flag would be presented to Admiral Frances T. Shea on the occasion of her retirement, September 30, 1983 after 30 years of service. The citation is in a blue hardcover folder with a gold seal, “Department of the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery”.
