Drawing of Navy Nurse with helicopters flying in the background. A vehicle is also present in the background. Underneath the drawing there is a description box:|”March 28. 2014|I am a Marine Veteran of the Viet Nam war, I was wounded on June 4, 1968 near Khe Sanh on hill 861N. Between the loss of a leg, PTSD and other medical issues I am 10% disabled. I am nearly 70 years old now and have never thanked the nurses that took care of me and all the other men. Words can not express my gratitude for your giving me a chance to have a family, be an artist, write a book about Viet Nam and PTSD and everything else I have done since that date. I have been blessed with a little talent and have something I would like to give to you to show my gratitude. I have scanned a piece of my art work and if you will tell me where to send it, I will send you the original. I don’t think that the drawing needs an explanation. I think I managed to convey how I think many of you felt some days. Once again from the bottom of my heart thank you.|With love and admiration|Lanny Martinson|Sgt. USMC”
