Glass framed plaque of “Prayer for Navy Nurses” by Captain Jane F. Vieira, Chaplain Corps, USN (United States Navy) dated April 2001. It reads “Prayer for Navy Nurses / Gracious God, / We thank You for the immeasurable skill, tremendous sacrifice / and extraordinary dedication of Navy Nurses. / For when we prayed to You for help on the battlefields of Okinawa / or the deserts of Kuwait, when we sought your aid as a code was / called as life hung in the balance and time stood still; / You sent us a Navy Nurse. / When shattered bodies arrived from the field or a loved one lay / dying, when our injured needed dressing or our surgeons needed / help, when newborns needed holding or the dying needed comfort; / You sent us a Navy Nurse. / From the battlefields of Normandy, to the jungles of Vietnam, in / clinics, on carriers, in patient units around the globe, / wherever the suffering needed healing or our sick needed care, / You sent us Your best; You sent us a Navy Nurse. / With skill unequaled and dedication beyond measure, / You answered our prayers Lord, when You sent us a Navy Nurse. / Amen, / Captain Jane F. Vieira / Chaplain Corps, United States Navy / April 2001.” The plaque has two clear panels on bottom and top of plaque that have a foilage design, two blue panels on the sides, and a yellow center pane. Plaque is handmade by LCDR Juana M. Wilson, NC/USN (deceased) who also signed the back in gold metallic ink “To Fran / Love Juana.” A gold sticker below the signature “J.M. Wilson” reads “Military Moments / Handmade by / Juana M. Wilson / LCDR Nurse Corps USN (ret).”
