a) Knife. Leather handle. Blade is 6 3/4”. Issued to Flight nurses by Marines. Frances Cleeton says “it came in very handy to slice loaves of bread and open cans of tuna to feed patients” (inflight). b) Scabbard, to hold knife, metal with woven belt-type handle and leather strip hanging off tip. “CLEETON” written on handle. Also engraved on metal, “USM8 BM CO”.
