Article – from Iron Mountain, Mich. “Friendships Forged in Boot Camp Last Life Time” Six nurses reunited in Iron Mountain – who were stationed at Farragut, Idaho, arriving New Year’s Eve 1944. They arrived in 25 degrees below 0 weather. The next year was spent treating patients injured in Pacific battles WWII. This started a lifelong friendship for the past 50 years. They have reunited regularly. They met every 5 years until 1980 the every 3 years to 1988, now every 2 years. The nurses are Kay Bossard, Mary Denison Hendershoff, Virginia Watterson, Lorraine Struck, Bernice Donahue Westford and Hedy Swiech Churbuck.
