1994-031/006 – Photograph

BW. Mona Mc Daniels in recreational “uniform” romper style 1945. The recreation uniform was something that was peculiar to Guam tour of 1944-1946. We had Leona Jackson as our over all Sr. NNC for that tour. She had been on Guam before the Jap invasion and knew it would be topical. As I recall as we assembled in San Francisco for the ship trip out in 1944 she had made arrangements so we could have suitable and uniform recreation garment. At that time we were not allowed to take anything of a civilian nature with us except a bathing suit. And that had to be very modest.
