Xerox Copy – official letter dated May 24, 1917 to Miss Powerly (spelled incorrectly – should be Powderly) The letter acknowledges she has been “enrolled” in the US Naval Reserve. Letter states a certificate of enrollment is enclosed. Also copy of “Accaptance and Oath od Office”. When the oath is notarized and received by the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, travel orders will be issued. It continues on in forming her of obligations, how to resign and pay.
