Article – “San Diego Union” Thursday, Feb 27, 1986. Article – “Angel Helped Ease The Hell of Iwo Jima” 2 pages. Page 1 – is a picture of Jane Kendeigh Cheverton comforting wounded Marine (William Wyckoff) on Iwo Jima March 6, 1945. She was the first women to set foot on battle field in Pacific. Page 2 – William Wyckoff and Jane Kendeigh Cheverton are reunited 41 years later. Marine Vets flew Wyckoff and his wife to Calif to surprise Cheverton. It was a touching reunion.
