(a) Purple Heart Medal: A heart-shaped medal within a gold border, containing a profile of General George Washington. Above the heart appears a shield of the coat of arms of George Washington (a white shield with two red bars and three red stars in chief) between sprays of green leaves. The reverse consists of a raised bronze heart with the words “FOR MILITARY MERIT” below the coat of arms and leaves. (b) Purple Heart ribbon bar with a pin clasp. Purple fabric with a white vertical stripe on each end. (c) Pin, lapel. Gold with a rectangular bar painted to look like a Purple Heart ribbon bar. (d) A dark blue leather case with gold embelishments and “Purple Heart” printed on the front. Inside is a cushioned gold color interior. Hinged lid.
