South Central Navy Nurse Corps Association
Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arkansas
History
SCNNCA was founded in August 1999 and received its charter from the NNCA in May 2000. Unique in the NNCA, we are composed predominantly of Reserve Navy Nurse Corps Officers and Retirees, as there have been very few active duty postings in our geographic region.
Mission
To foster friendship, affinity, rapport and cordial relations among Former, Retired, Active and Reserve Navy Nurse Corps officers. We promote social activities; sponsor continuing education offerings and support NNCA Scholarship and Veteran’s organizations.
Projects and Engagement
Membership meetings and the officer elections are held in the spring. Given SCNNCA’s large geographic area, some meetings may be held online.
Chapter Membership
NNCA is a national membership organization. Members of this national organization may or may not be affiliated with a Chapter, but all Chapter members must be members of the national organization.
Membership is open to all Navy nurses (active duty, active reserve, retired, and retired reserve, and former active and reserve nurses with an honorable discharge) living or working in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arkansas.
In order to join a NNCA Chapter, you must also be a member of the national NNCA.
