History
The Birthplace of the Navy Nurse Corps Association (NNCA) was first incorporated as a non-profit organization in the state of Washington.
Mission
To facilitate information sharing, socialization, and camaraderie among local Navy Nurses.
Projects and Engagement
- The membership meets twice a year in April and October. The specifics of each meeting are posted in the newsletter sent out to NWNNCA members in March and September.
- Chapter projects include fund raising, selection of nursing school scholarship recipients and recognition of outstanding graduating NROTC nursing students.
Chapter Membership
NNCA is a national membership organization. Members of this national organization may or may not be affiliated with a Chapter, but all Chapter members must be members of the national organization.
Membership is open to all Navy nurses (active duty, active reserve, retired, and retired reserve, and former active and reserve nurses with an honorable discharge) living or working in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.
In order to join a NNCA Chapter, you must also be a member of the national NNCA.

Scholarships
The Northwest NNCA (NWMMCA) awards annual scholarships
- The Northwest Navy Nurse Corps is currently offering a one-time $1500 scholarship to a senior nursing student in a BSN program located in the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington. The program must be approved by either ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing) or CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education). The Applicant can be enrolled in a traditional BSN program, an RN to BSN program, or an Accelerated BSN program and will graduate between December 2024 and August 2025. The deadline for applications is 30 June 2024. Select the application appropriate to the enrolled program: Traditional BSN, RN to BSN, or Accelerated BSN.
