History
The Birthplace of the Navy Nurse Corps Association (NNCA) was first incorporated as a non-profit organization in the state of Washington.
Mission
To facilitate information sharing, socialization, and camaraderie among local Navy Nurses.
Projects and Engagement
- The membership meets twice a year in April and October. The specifics of each meeting are posted in the newsletter sent out to NWNNCA members in March and September.
- Chapter projects include fund raising, selection of nursing school scholarship recipients and recognition of outstanding graduating NROTC nursing students.
Chapter Membership
NNCA is a national membership organization. Members of this national organization may or may not be affiliated with a Chapter, but all Chapter members must be members of the national organization.
Membership is open to all Navy nurses (active duty, active reserve, retired, and retired reserve, and former active and reserve nurses with an honorable discharge) living or working in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Alaska.
In order to join a NNCA Chapter, you must also be a member of the national NNCA.

Scholarships
The Northwest NNCA (NWMMCA) awards annual scholarships
- The Northwest Navy Nurse Corps Association is offering a one-time $1,500 scholarship for a student graduating from a Bachelor of Science degree program between the dates of December 2025 and August 2026. The applicant may be full-time or part-time but must be enrolled in a BSN program in the states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon or Washington. Applications for the scholarship are available on the NNCA.org website. There are separate applications for each degree track: pre-licensure, RN to BSN, and Accelerated BSN.
