BW. Christmas gifts – orphans Japan 1953 aboard USHS REPOSE with Nurse Etta Parr McGirr. Christmas Day: one hundred orphans – 50 Protestant and 50 Catholic 5-8 year olds came by “M” boats for dinner through a downpour of rain. Also gifts from Santa Claus. These guests arrived after the military had their dinner and I must add many of their gifts were passed on from military personal sharing.
