New England Navy Nurse
Corps Association (NENNCA)
The New England chapter was born in May 1995. Members come from
all six states in New England. The group has enjoyed different
celebrations in the past, and hosted the national meeting and
reunion in 2001. A board of directors is elected from the chapter
membership.
Membership: Open to all Navy
Nurses, active and former active duty, retired, and reserve. There
are currently 62 dues paying members. The mailing list numbers
approximately 90.
Meetings: Luncheon meetings
are held in the Fall and Spring. In addition, the board meets
between two and four times a year. Different committees complete
their work as necessary at other times. Newsletters are published
and distributed in the Fall and Spring.
Chapter Dues: Yearly membership
dues are $15 each year. The chapter also has a “rough seas”
fund for members who can benefit from such.
Chapter Mission/Projects:
Support of the NNCA. Socializing and information sharing are
also vital parts of the chapter’s mission. The group has
an active scholarship committee which awards two scholarships
a year. Members are involved in other projects including: Women’s,
veteran’s, military and retiree group projects, events,
and charities.
